MakMax Australia Joins Global Clean-Up Initiative to Support Local Environment

After ‘cleaning up’ in a big way at the 2023 STA Australian Fabrication Awards, the MakMax Australia team swapped trophies for tongs and hit the streets around our Northgate HQ for a different kind of clean-up – one that benefits our whole community.

As part of a global environmental initiative led by our parent company, Taiyo Kogyo Corporation/MakMax Group, teams across the international Taiyo Group have been stepping up to take care of the spaces around them. In Brisbane, our contribution came in the form of a morning litter clean-up walk around the local neighbourhood.

Armed with rubbish bags and pickers, the MakMax team took to the streets under the guidance of Ellen Wheeler from Brisbane City Council’s “104 Or More” litter prevention team. The initiative encourages individuals and groups to collect at least 104 pieces of litter each year -just two a week – to make a meaningful impact on our environment.

At MakMax Australia, we believe that looking after the communities we live and work in goes hand-in-hand with our mission to deliver sustainable, long-lasting tensile membrane structures. From designing shade solutions that minimise environmental impact, to getting our hands dirty for a good cause, we’re proud to be part of a global company that shares our values.

Small actions add up to big results—and taking a little time out of the workday to walk, talk, and tidy up is just one of the ways we contribute to the wellbeing of our local area.

We’d like to thank Brisbane City Council and the “104 Or More” team for their support and leadership, and to our colleagues across the Taiyo Group who are making a difference around the globe. After all, when it comes to sustainability, We Are One Taiyo.
