Sustainability

Whilst our designs, materials and structures create enormous impact around the world, the impact on our environment is remarkably low. Faced with global warming, uncertain economies, the proliferation of population and depletion of natural resources, Sustainable Design is a positive step towards maintaining a greener, healthier environment and a desirable quality of life.
MakMax works to maximise tensile architecture’s inherent day lighting capabilities, increase insulative values and reduce material usage in order to offer architects and building owners a progressive, environmentally responsible option to traditional architecture systems.
Open, airy designs such as those MakMax provide offer an abundance of natural light to building interiors. Tensile membrane's high degree of translucency results in decreased demand for costly electric lights. Additionally, studies have shown that increased natural light levels and productivity go hand in hand. At the same time, tension membrane offers a high level of solar shading, subsequently reducing solar heat gain within a structure.
We are proud of the synergy between technological advances and environmental responsibility. Not only does our Research and Development facility continue to produce these newer, greener products and systems, we also support Texyloop, the international PVC recycling initiative established by Ferrari Textiles.
