Located on Lantau Island, facing the high-rises of Hong Kong across the bay, the Discovery Bay Love Lock Promenade is a foreshore recreation space.
Completing the open air public space is a series of 8 connected Leva LS54 cantilever umbrellas, with infill sections to create 2 weather-proof canopy areas.
The Discovery Bay Love Lock Promenade architectural umbrellas was a project by MakMax’s reseller and local installation partner in Hong Kong – L.F. Sam HK Ltd.
The Concept
Zone A features 3 Leva LS54 umbrella in a straight line. The 3 umbrellas are supported by 2 columns – a single boom (one canopy) and a double boom (two canopies).
Zone B features 5 Leva LS54 umbrella aligned in a semi-circle, installed over a set of amphitheatre-style steps. The three columns (two double booms and a single boom for the centre canopy) are located on the top level of the steps, with the canopies creating a sun and weather protected space over the steps.
