The Brief
Aspect Studios designed the project to incorporate outdoor dining umbrellas with integrated heating, lighting and blinds as part of the Darling Square redevelopment “fusing landscape, architecture, art, food and culture”
Several design options were reviewed in conjunction with Lend Lease & Aspect Studios as well as using local artist’s designs to incorporate colour and functionality.
The Materials
The 8 umbrellas as Centra CS32 Architectural Umbrellas
- Serge-Ferrari 502 Colours – Aluminium, White, Black & Teak.
- Silver Pearl Powder Coated Steel.
- Celmec Electric Radiant Heating, Lighting & Blinds provide comfort and weather protection.
The Result
On site conditions delayed project significantly so pressure was on for MakMax to install within limited timeline available. Unique ground conditions & levels were critical elements to ensure installation was executed without error. Installation timing needed to be coordinated with the various art sculptures suspended above the umbrellas along the laneway.
Project completed timely & successfully to client’s satisfaction adding another unique element to the overall Darling Square project incorporating multiple MakMax products throughout.
