Wedding Hall Abu Dhabi

Adu Dhabi's Al Turath Wedding Hall is a ground breaking project for MakMax Australia. The project not only consists of a beautiful tension membrane roof but also works to combat the extreme heat that is synonymous with the United Arab Emirates.

The outer visible membrane is a PVC fabric while inside the two main conic structures over the main wedding hall is lined with an insulative and acoustic membrane. Each cone or conic structure has an inner ceiling layer than mirrors the shape of the outer cone. Between these two layers is insulation. This technique allows the building to keep the dynamic shape of the cones visible from the inside of the hall while still providing all the necessary acoustic properties and insulation required for the venue.

Had this project been built today the product of choice would have been Tensotherm as it provides all the same advantages at a greater degree and with fewer materials.
